"Ahsante sana" – Thank you, very much.

The third important word in Swahili is "Ahsante sana" – Thank you, very much. It was not only often used, but thankfulness is a characteristic belonging to these people. Nothing is taken for granted. Attention is payed to everything and people express their thanks. Showered with presents I returned to Europe.

So I want to say also: "Ahsante sana". Primarily I mention God. During these three weeks he took care of me extremely well: Sansibar and the settlements were like big portals. The meetings, conversations, the community and parish masses and the prayer of the breviary were like being received by family. The meal and the festive traditions gave an impression of the African way of life.

Then I want to thank the Sisters, Brothers and Fathers for their hospitality and the time they shared with me and also for their "yes" concerning the "fixed-term missionaries". I was delighted about their interest in our founder, Fr. Francis of the Cross Jordan.

It is a pleasure for me to pass on to you, dear Friends and Benefactors, the thanks from Tanzania. Your donations have made possible these promising endeavours. To you all a heartfelt "God bless you!"
